Geoff Holmes Redditch People

Photographer 1841 - 1925

Geoff was an ordinary Redditch resident who had an Geoff Holmes
interest in Photography. In the 1960s he also had (Source: Sylvia Holmes)
the perception to realise that the town was about to
change forever with its designation as a New Town.

Therefore over a 10 year period from the mid 60's to
the mid 70s he photographed the town as it was and
as it changed.

Those photographs remained in his personal
collection until after his death when his widow,
Sylvia, donated them to the RLHS in 2013. Today we
know them as the “Geoff Holmes Collection” and
their display brings enjoyment to all who see them.
