Walter & William Humphries
Shoemakers & Retailers
Walter Humphries was born in 1837 in Redditch to
parents William and Betsy Humphries. In 1881
Walter was a Boot Maker and married to Emma and
lived at 15 Evesham Street. He became a Pastor of
the Congregational Church in Balsham,
Cambridgeshire.
It was their son, William Humphries born in 1867, - 1867 – 1956 (William)
who then became known as the Boot Maker at 15
Evesham Street. Over the years the shop has been at A 2012 Shopping Bag logo
39, 40 and then 45 Evesham Street. When Evesham celebrating the 150th anniversary
Street was demolished to make way for the
Kingfisher centre Humphries moved into the centre of Humphries Shoe Shop in
and the shop still trades today. Redditch
