Mike Johnson, together with his brothers worked --
with their father in Spencers' Music Shop.

Mike had an interest in film making as well as local (Source: Redditch Standard)
history and through both of these has created a
lasting archive for the town through interviews with
local residents.
These have appeared both as cine films in
conjunction with Gordon Anstis who “interviewed”
the subjects and in printed form in the “Life and
Times” series of booklets produced in conjunction
with Anne Bradford.
He also made a number of documentary films about

Cllr. Alan E. Jones 1929 - 2006
Redditch Mayor in 1980
Alan Jones served as a navigator and Flight
Lieutenant in the R.A.F. After that he was involved in
private industry and from the early 1970s ran his
own business.
He served as a Conservative Councillor in the
Greenlands ward from 1975 to 1983 and in May 1980
became the first Redditch citizen to hold full position
of Mayor once the council had been awarded borough
status. He was elected to serve the west ward in
1987.
