Gillian Knight
Opera Singer
A very accomplished opera singer known for her
performances of both Gilbert & Sullivan and grand
opera.
She started her career in the late 1950s whilst still
studying at the Royal Academy of Music and was a
principal member of the D’Oyly Carte Opera Company
between 1959 and 1965.
In 1968 she joined Sadler’s Wells Opera before 1934 -
singing in her debut at The Royal Opera House,
Covent Garden in 1970. Gillian Knight
