Gloucester and Worcester Brigade at Minehead – The members of the
Gloucester and Worcester Territorial Infantry Brigade left their homes and entrained
yesterday in their several units for Minehead. The brigade, which is commanded by

The Army Service Corps come from Stroud, and the medical unit from Bristol.
The camp is situated on a hill close to Minehead Village, and is 800ft. above sea level. It is
familiar ground for the Worcesters, who spent a week there in 1905 as Volunteers; but not so
for the Gloucesters, to whom the climb came as a surprise. A still higher hill is included in the
manoeuvring ground, which consists of a wide stretch of healthy moorland, diversified by
tors and coombes. The units are well up to strength, and the completeness of their
equipment as they marched in camp was commented upon by civilian visitors to the places.
