Astwood Bank Casualties – Information has been received by Mr and Mrs C. Jobson,
of Feckenham Road, Astwood Bank, that their son, Private Arthur Jobson, of the Royal Welsh
Fusiliers, has been killed in action. He joined the Worcester Regiment in February, 1916, but

was subsequently transferred to the Welsh Fusiliers. He went out to France on June 10 and

was killed on August 4 .

(On 1911 census Arthur Jobson aged 19, Gas Fitter, lived with his parents Joseph and Sarah Jobson and siblings
in 56 Oakly Road, Redditch.
Lance-Corporal Clarence Chatterley of Astwood Bank, whose parents resided at Chestnut
Road, Astwood Bank, has been severely wounded and is now in hospital. He is in the Army
Cycling Corps. The wounds are in both knees and his hip. He was a Territorial when the war
broke out, and entered upon active service at the declaration of the war.
