               The Bromsgrove, Droitwich and Redditch Messenger – Saturday 18  August
               1917















               Two Old Crabbs Cross Men Killed – Amongst the many killed in the recent push on
               the Western front were two old boys of Crabbs Cross Council School. – Private Richard H.
               Ralph and Quartermaster-Sergt. George Taylor.  Both were in the Royal Warwickshire Regt.,

               the former being killed on July 25  and the latter July 22 . Private Ralph was 21 years of age
               and the sergeant 25 years of age.

               Remembered on St Luke’s war memorial, Headless Cross, Redditch.
               (On the 1911 census Richard Ralph, aged 15, Cycle worker, lived with his parents Frederick and Bertha Ralph at
               Bredon Cottage, Hunt End, nr Redditch.

               Remembered on St Stephen’s war memorial, Redditch and St Luke’s war memorial, Headless Cross.
               (On 1911 census George Taylor aged 19, Needle Warehouseman, lived with his parents, Henry Edgar and Mary
               Jane Taylor and siblings at 86 Rectory Road,  Headless Cross.
