Tardebigge Lady on Mined Hospital Ship – Rewarded for Gallantry and

Meritorious Service – The King has approved of the award of the Royal Red Cross, 2 class,
to Sister Miss Fanny Boulton, Q.A.I.M.N.S., Reserve, for gallantry and meritorious services on
the occasion of the mining of a hospital ship. The recipient of the honour is the daughter of
Mr J. E. Boulton, of Tardebigge. She was trained at the Cheltenham General Hospital, and
was at the time of joining the Q.A.I.M.N.S. Res. A sister at the Chester General Infirmary. She
commenced her military duties at the Qurragh Camp, and was for 12 months at Malta, and
has been for 13 months a sister on one of His Majesty’s hospital ships.

(On the 1911 census Fanny Boulton was a Hospital Nurse, aged 28, at the General Hospital, Sandford Road,
Cheltenham.
