               Midland Roll of Honour
               Mrs Emms, Mount Pleasant, Redditch, has received news to the effect that her husband,

               Private Charles Emms, of the 2  Worcester Regiment, died from wounds received in action
               on 28 June.

               Worcestershire Regiment, born and enlisted in Redditch, died of wounds, 28  June 1917,
               France.  Buried at Saint Sever Cemetery Extension, France, age 28.  Parents William and Kate
               Emms of Redditch, husband of Lilian Rose Emms, 3 Stretton Terrace, Rosehill Street, Cheltenham.)
               Remembered on St Luke’s war memorial, Headless Cross, Redditch.
               (On the 1911 census Charles, aged 21, Needle Rubber, lived with his mother Kate, widow and his siblings at 51
               Birchfield Road, Headless Cross, Redditch.)
               Mr William Forester, of Northfield, and formerly of Mount Pleasant, Redditch, has received
               information that his eldest son Charles Melbourne Forester, was killed in France on 1 July.
               Prior to joining the Army he was in the employ of Mr A. P. Millward, chairman of the
               Redditch Urban District Council.
               (On Ancestry site Military records, Charles Forester, 106348, Labour Corps, born in Ipsley,

               enlisted in Redditch, killed in action, 1  July 1917, Western European Theatre, formerly
               35011, Hants Regt.  Buried Vlamertinghe New Military Cemetery, Belgium.  Son of William
               Forester of 77 Church Hill, Northfield, Birmingham and Charles was a native of Redditch.  He

               enlisted in the Labour Corp, 6  December 1915 and at the time lived at 149 Beoley Road,
               Redditch, he was aged 40 years and 9 months.  He was awarded the British War Medal and
               Victory Medal.)

               Remembered on St Stephen’s war memorial, Redditch.
               (On the 1891 census Charles M. aged 16, Painter, lived with his parents William and Maria Forester and siblings
               in Mount Pleasant, Redditch.  On the 1911 census Charles Forester aged 36, widower, Painter, was boarding at
               45 Arrow Road, Redditch.)
