Able Seaman Reginald Stanley, Service No J/31560, Royal Navy H.M.S. Vanguard, Killed by

internal explosion of vessel at Scapa Flow, 9 July 1917, aged 21. Born in Birmingham, son
of May Stanley of 19A Adelaide Street, Redditch and the late George Stanley. Body not
recovered for burial. Remembered on Portsmouth Naval Memorial 1917.

Remembered on St Stephen’s war memorial, Redditch.
(On 1911 census Reginald Stanley aged 14, Tube Drawer, lived with his parents George and May Stanley and
siblings at 3 Bk 75 Ladywood Road, Birmingham.)
