Soldier Found Drowned Near Redditch – The body of a soldier named W. Harris
(41), whose home is at Town Dale, Alcester Road, Studley, near Redditch, has been found in
a pool near his residence. He joined the Royal Army Medical Corps nearly three months ago,
and was home on furlough, being due to return to his depot on Monday He had appeared
strange in his manner since he reached home. Late on Sunday night he got out of bed and
was not seen alive afterwards. For many years he worked at Parkwood Mills, Redditch, and
was a well-known cricketer and footballer.
