               Casualties continued

               Sergeant J. B. Cotterill, whose relatives resided at 41 Beoley Road, Redditch, killed in action,
               had been wounded several times previously.

               On Ancestry site Military records, Private Caleb John Hawkes, 203793, 1  4  Battalion,
               Princess Charlotte of Wales (Royal Berkshire) Regiment, born and enlisted in Redditch, died
               of wounds Western European Theatre.  Formerly 16309 Worcestershire Regiment.
               A Caleb Hawkes was remembered on St Stephen’s war memorial, Redditch.
               (On 1911 census Caleb, aged 15, lived with his parents, Caleb and Ann Elizabeth Hawkes, at 20 Birchfield Road,
               Headless Cross.

               Despatch runner James killed in action, was killed in the act of carrying a message.

               Remembered as Stewart James on St Luke’s war memorial, Headless Cross, Redditch.
