Visits to War graves – The War Office states that for many reasons it is not yet
possible to grant general permission to relatives to proceed to France or Belgium to visit
graves or cemeteries. Large areas under the control of the British Army of Occupation are
entirely closed to visitors as the work of exhumation and concentration to central cemeteries
of all isolated graves is taking place within these areas. Until this work is much further
advanced it is unlikely that the present restrictions can be removed. The removal of
restrictions is also dependent upon such other factors as transport and accommodation.

Coming Thames Pageant – The King has consented to give his patronage to the great
river pageant, which is being organised as the “Tribute of the Thames” to the British
Mercantile Marine for its great services in the war. The date has not yet been definitely
fixed, but it will probably be in July or August.
