Redditch Heritage Trail
Church Road Conservation Area
This area contains some of the oldest buildings still
remaining in the town centre. It was originally the
commercial heart of the town with the post office,
police station, courts, labour exchange, bus garage
and a public hall, which was demolished to build
the cinema. Sadly the cinema is long gone. Since
then it has been a bingo hall and served as the
location for several nightclubs, all of which have
closed. Planning permission has recently been
granted to turn the building into apartments. The
photographs show some of these buildings as they
used to be.
