Redditch Heritage Trail
St. Stephen’s Church
St Stephen's is an Anglican church in the centre of
Redditch. Built in 1853, it is a large parish church,
capable originally of accommodating 1,500 people.
It replaced the Chapel on The Green which was
opened in 1808, after an Act of Parliament was
passed in 1806 for the removal and rebuilding of it
having been sited at the gatehouse of Bordesley
Abbey. The interior is modest but the building does
contain some fine stained glass windows.
