Evesham Street - Looking South

The New Town brought the need for more shops to
serve the growing population. The Redditch
Development Corporation took the bold decision to
re-build the town centre rather than develop a
greenfield site. The loss of most of the old Evesham
Street, leaving just a few original buildings shown,
remains one of the most disliked events of the New
Town development.
