Walford Street

As you walk down this mall you are tracing the
route of Walford Street, a typical town centre
street of old Redditch, narrow with two up, two
down terraced Victorian houses.
When the Kingfisher Centre was first completed in
the 1970s, Walford Street was replaced by Royal
Square which housed Redditch Market, a food hall,
shops and a nightclub. These were in turn replaced
by the mall and Debenhams in 2004.

Next Exit out of the doors, past the library and turn right back down Alcester
Steps: Street to the Palace Theatre where you started.
