The HISTORY of REDDITCH New Town



       The excavated peat was used as landscaping material in Arrow Valley Park while material
       excavated to form the “lake” was used to form the road.






       Separating pedestrians from vehicles was a fundamental design principle of the New Town

       Pedestrianisation of the area around Church Green took place in phases.  Church Green

















































         Market Place in its pedestrianised layout. Church Green East and Alcester Street have similar
         treatments providing a virtually traffic free centre of the old town.
