Ralph Richardson

Teacher, Author & Historian

Born in Beverley, East Yorkshire, Ralph Richardson 1931 -
was educated at Beverley Grammar School and
Magnus Grammar School, Newark, Notts. He is a Ralph Richardson
teacher, author and historian and has lived and (Source: The Book of Redditch)
worked in Redditch since the 1960s.

He was also the Headmaster of Arrow Vale High
School, Redditch.

Among his numerous interests are philately and the
study of monumental brasses. Ralph is a keen
supporter of local history having written book,
newspaper articles and given countless talks on the
subject.

John Roberts

Principal Accompanist at the Palace Theatre

John Arthur Roberts was born in 1906 in Smallwood 1906 - 1993
Row, Redditch to parents Harry Roberts and Lucy nee
Thomas. He married Ellen Smout in 1933 in Headless John Roberts

John was also the Chief Research and Development
Engineer for Herbert Terry and Sons but he also
devoted his life to local shows, working on 12 shows
with Redditch Operatic Society. He played the piano
for Alvechurch Musical Society and was principal
accompanist at the Palace Theatre.
