The Bromsgrove, Droitwich and Redditch Messenger – Saturday 15 May
1915
Visit of Worcestershire Regimental Band. – In connection with the recruiting
campaign on behalf of the Worcestershire Territorial and line regiments, a visit was paid by
the Worcestershire Regimental Band on Tuesday, the men being billeted, by the kindness of
a number of residents, and remaining in the town until Wednesday night. A short route
march, in which the Redditch Rifle Corps also participated, took place on Tuesday night. In
Church Green, George Street, and Ipsley Green meetings were held, and addresses given by
Messrs. E. T. Moule, G. W. Hobson, and F. J. Whiteley. The band played selections of music
in Church Green on Wednesday afternoon, and in the evening a meeting was held in Church
green, short addresses being given by Colonel H. S. Bartleet and Captain Green.
