               Headless Cross Soldiers continued - Information has been received by Mr and
               Mrs Wilkinson, of Birchfield Road, Headless Cross, that their son, Private H. Wilkinson died in

               hospital at Calais on May 2 , from wounds received in action.

               (On Ancestry site Military records, Walter Henry Wilkinson (37596), 1/5  Battalion, Duke of
               Cornwall’s Light Infantry, born Headless Cross, resided in Redditch enlisted in Worcester,

               died of wounds 2  May 1918, Western European Theatre, formerly 7/2526, T.Res. Bn.)
               A Harry Wilkinson is remembered on St Luke’s war memorial Headless Cross.

               Forces War Records, Private Walter Henry Wilkinson aged 19, 1 /5  Battalion, Duke of
               Cornwall’s Light Infantry, son of Thomas and Susannah Wilkinson of Headless Cross.
               (On the 1911 census Walter Henry Wilkinson, aged 12, lived with his parents Thomas and Susannah Wilkinson
               at 49 Birchfield Road, Redditch.)
