Headless Cross Sergeant Prisoner of War – Some time ago Mr and Mrs J. Allen
of 67 Evesham Road, were officially informed that their son, Sergt. H. J. Allen, of the

Berkshire regt., was reported missing. A card bearing post-mark June 5 , and received by his
th
parents on July 13 , states that Sergt. Allen is a prisoner of war in Germany, and at the time
of writing was well. Sergt. Allen was at one time an assistant at St Luke’s School, Headless
Cross.
