Where the telephone boxes and post box stand in
this picture once stood the Select Cinema, known
locally as the “Flea Pit”.
The row of shops behind the Davenports hoarding
were demolished to allow construction of the new
library.
Where the Post Office is today was the site of the
Old Town Lock-up.

Steps: library. Don’t forget to also look down at the pavement.
