Queen Street - Looking East
Behind the Palace Theatre on Queen Street were
houses and factories, including Shrimpton &
Fletcher’s Surgical needle factory.
Most of this factory was demolished except the
part adjoining the theatre which was incorporated
into the theatre as new dressing rooms.
