Redditch Heritage Trail

Following our Trail

This guide will lead you around the town centre and highlight areas of interest. Some
are subtle buildings or townscape features that you may walk by unnoticed without the
guide.

The photographs on the pages will show you what the town looked like in times gone
by. In some cases the changes have happened over the last 50 years as the town was
being re-developed as a “New Town”.

In other cases we show you how a site looked 80 or 100 years ago.

On each page there is a brief explanation. This is not a history book per se, but you will
pass Redditch Library on your route where there is a local history section with many
books which go into detail about the town’s history. Pop in and the staff will be pleased
to help you explore the town’s history in more detail.

At the foot of each page is an instruction as to where to go next and what to see next.
Follow the instruction and move on to the next page in the guide.

The walk around the town will take between one and two hours. Do keep your camera
handy to record the trail through your own eyes.
