Church Green - The Bandstand
The Bandstand was built in 1898, with alterations
in the mid and late 20th century.
Note the thatched roof of the original “Kiosk” as it
was known and the iron railings surrounding the
green, which were removed as part of the Second
World War effort.
Plans to relocate the Bandstand a few years ago
were resisted by local residents and it is now being
brought back into use during the summer.
