               Friday in last week – Before His Honour Judge Ingham – Claim for Advertisement – Michael
               Barry Kirwan, advertising agent, of Manchester, brought an action against H. Field, Alcester
               Street, Redditch, boot maker, for £3.18s., being the cost of twelve months’ advertising space
               at the Palace Theatre, Redditch.  The plaintiff was represented by Mr F. J. Whiteley, and Mr
               George Thomas represented the defendant.  Mr Whiteley, in opening the case said there was
               a complaint that the advertisement could not be seen from all parts of the house, and that
               an offer to give a rebate of 6d. a week had been made.  Plaintiff’s manager gave evidence of
               the contract entered upon by defendant, and produced a plan of the curtain showing the
               advertisements. – The Stage Manager of the Palace theatre said that in the first place the
               advertisement could not be seen from all parts of the house, but this had since been
               remedied.  He admitted that several persons in the pit could not see the advertisement. – In
               his evidence defendant said he was shown a plan when he was canvassed for the
               advertisement, and told that it could be seen from all parts of the house.  He visited the
               theatre, and found that his advertisement could only be seen from certain positions.  His wife
               wrote plaintiff concerning the matter, but received no reply. – His Honour remarked that in
