Remembering ISTEL
Over the last couple of years word processing has been progressively installed
in various BL Cars locations. Personnel at 2 Eaton Road are using it for staff
handbooks, IVNs, graduate and company recruitment and the Company
Personnel Policy Manual. BL Cars Quality at Canley uses the equipment for
producing vehicle performance records, the Quality Manual, Ministry of
Defence 05.21 Standards and the like.So far we have only seen the tip of the
iceberg. We have built up a small but skilled team in Systems which will help us
exploit word processing, probably leading to the linking of word processing
systems together over the microwave system, enabling us more and more to
send memos direct from word processing system to word processing system
without the use of normal postal services with the delays inherent in them.
