ISTEL has a wide range of products and services, available through the sales and
marketing operations. This directory gives a brief synopsis of each one, with a contact
name for further information.

This selection dates from November 1985 but there are always new products being
introduced so is probably never going to be 100% accurate

Advanced Manufacturing Technology(AMT) ( Engineering &
Manufacturing Division.)

ISTEL Automation provides products and services for companies who wish to

auto- mate their factories or manufacturing processes.

A consultancy service is offered which ranges from total system design, hard-

ware and software needs for computer control to individual component parts
of the process.

ISTEL's services in AMT can be set out as follows:

(1) consultancy (at any stage)

(2) supply of computerised control hard- ware and software

(3) complete implementation and integration of an automated factory

(4) any combination of the above

BASIL (Commercial Division.)

BASIL is a Viewdata-based system which enables major travel agents to access
a single database to search for 'late availability' holidays from a range of tour

operators.

Until now, agents have had to key into different databases provided by tour
operators, to search for the required holiday, but with BASIL (a fully interactive

system) agents can key in the client's requirements and the system will
automatically search through offerings from operators and come up with a
range of choices, within seconds.

Tour operators updating BASIL include Horizon, Rank, Intasun and many others.
