        COSMIC (Austin Rover Division)

        COSMIC, an acronym for Computer Online Services for Managing Information

        and Control, offers high function packages of immense power and value to any
        established or potential computer user.

        Designed to increase management effectiveness in day-to-day decision making,

        COSMIC is based on mainframe computers and comprises three products:

        (i) AS - Applications System - IBM's database handling and report generating

        system. This service is only offered internally to BL.

        (ii) FCS - Financial Control System - a decision support package that allows

        economic and financial models to be built up for financial planning, control and
        fore- casting.


        (iii) Artemis - a project management system which enables control of large
        projects including costs and resources.


        COSMIC provides the user with expensive and sophisticated software at the low
        cost of a bureau offering.


        Direct Marketing Services

        Direct Marketing Services provides a laser printing bureau service with the
        skills to develop and manipulate marketing data- bases such as ARG vehicle and

        customer details to produce high-quality personalised letters.

        Mailing and advertising campaigns are


        carried out for ARG and for individual dealers and distributors on their own
        headed stationery.


        Information can be researched and sorted with a high degree of selectivity, i.e.
        by  postcode  and  demographic  status,  to  pro-  duce  effective  and  economic
        mailings.
