               L/Cororal Joseph James Spiers, 3  Battalion, Worcestershire Regiment, born and resided in

               Redditch, enlisted in Worcester, killed in action, 30  January 1915, Western European
               Theatre. Buried Kemmel Chateau Military Cemetery, Heuvelland, Belgium.
               (On the 1911 census a Joseph James Spiers born in Redditch,  was married to Lilian Mary and they lived in
               Preston, Sussex.)

               Redditch Soldier Killed – News has been received by his relatives of the death from
               wounds on December 18, at Baillerd, France, of Pte. A. G. Johnys, of the Middlesex Regiment,
               who formerly lived at Worcester Road, Redditch.  Deceased who was thirty-nine years of
               age, served fifteen years in the army.  For eleven years he served in India.  He leaves a widow
               and three children.

               Remembered on St Stephen’s and St George’s war memorials, Redditch.

               Saviours Church, Battersea, London, on 16  September 1911.  His father was James Johnys, deceased and
               Edith’s father was Alfred Baylis.  On 1891 census Arthur George Johnys born in Bethnal Green, aged 15, James
               and Ameilia and his sister in Bethnal Green.)
