Redditch People

Rugby Club. As an ambulance driver, he was County Ambulance Liaison Officer and also,
in 1962. was among those pioneering the twinning of Redditch with Auxerre. Frank was
invited on to the Board of the Redditch Development (Corporation in
1975. in his history of the new town. Cordon Anstis said of him. "His strong political
convictions involved him in heated arguments at times but he was much respected by
everyone".

Cllr. Kieth Boyd-Carpenter

Redditch Mayor in 2003

Kieth Boyd-Carpenter was first elected a councillor in
1979 to the then Redditch District Council. He served
in various positions for over 25 years.

Cllr. David R. Cartwright

Redditch Mayor in 1992

David R. Cartwright former Labour leader of the
Redditch Borough Council.

He was sent to prison for 3 years after stealing
£80,000 from a charity which was set up to help
homeless youngsters. He pleaded guilty to a
catalogue of theft and deception charges. He
admitted stealing from Step out Drop in charity
between 2003 AND 2005, and dishonestley obtaining
by deception money from the Government
department between 1997 and 1998. There was
other dishonesty that he admitted too concerning
Redditch Council. Taken from the Birmingham Mail
