Astwood Bank Airman Killed – Official information has been received by Mr and
Mrs Wynn, Astwood Bank, that their only son, Corporal A. H. Wynn, has been killed. He was
taking part in a raiding tour, when a terrific storm came on and brought down the machine.
At first the report was that he was missing. Prior to the war he was employed by Messrs. S.
Allcock & Co. Ltd., Redditch. He was associated with the Astwood Baptist Sunday School,
and was a member of the choir. He was 20 years of age.

Sierra Leone Carrier Corps, died 30 August 1918, Greece. Buried Salonika Anglo-French
Military Cemetery. Father was Mr and Mrs Harry Wynn of Astwood Bank. On Global find a
grave, it stated that Arthur had been Gunlayer Observor, Royal Air Force, aged 20. )
Remembered on Astwood Bank war memorial and Astwood Bank Baptist Church memorial.
