Astwood Bank Soldier Killed – After a suspense of more than twelve months
waiting, definite news regarding their second son Private Harold Chamberlain, Mr and Mrs
Chamberlain, of Avenue Road, Astwood Bank, have been informed that he was killed in

action September 26 1917. Private Chamberlain was in the Worcestershire regiment,
enlisted June 1916, and had spent a considerable time in France. Prior to joining the forces
he was in the employ of Messrs. Joseph Perkins and sons, Astwood Bank. He was 20 years of
age.
