               husband of Mary E. Palmer, 139 Other Road, Redditch.
               Remembered on St Stephen’s war memorial and St Stephen’s Church memorial, Redditch.
               (On the 1911 census Sydney aged 13, lived with his parents Jesse and Mary Elizabeth Palmer, at 201 Mount
               Pleasant, Redditch.

               Private Sidney Laight, Service No 44719, 8  Battalion, Princess Charlotte of Wales’s (Royal
               Berkshire Regiment), born in Alcester, resided in Redditch, enlisted in Worcester, killed in

               action, 20  September 1918, France.  Formerly (70284) Devon Regiment.  Remembered on
               Memorial in Vis-en-Artois British Cemetery, Haucourt, France, final resting place unknown.
               Aged 19 and son of Frederick and Bertha Laight of Church Lench, Evesham.
               Sidney J. Laight is rememebered on St Luke’s war memorial, Headless Cross, Redditch.
               (Sidney James Laight was born in 1898 in the Alcester District.  On 1911 census he was aged 12, scholar, lived
               with his parents Frederick and Bertha Ann Laight and siblings at Little Knighton Farm, Alcester.)
